Facilities

Canterbury Car Club is arguably one of New Zealand’s most progressive clubs with a growing reputation for setting the standard in top class motorsport events and facilities. Last season, Mike Pero Motorsport Park hosted 306 utilisation days and 40 events catering for all aspects of motorsport (both 2 wheeled and 4 wheeled).

We see many thousands of people through the gates during the year for both sporting and commercial activities. Improvements and upgrades to both the track and surrounding park continue to be part of the Club’s commitment to motorsport to ensure drivers and spectators alike enjoy a professional, safe and enjoyable event. In 2000 the Club erected 30 permanent Pit lane garages with power, lighting and compressed air, a facility which sets the Club apart from any other in New Zealand. Race teams now have two-way entry into the pits with prime access to the track to minimise downtime during racing.

The track surface is hot mix bitumen and runs for 3.33km in an anti-clockwise direction. MyLaps timing is installed, a state-of-the-art Control Tower and full Club and Media Suites. Permanent race fuel installation is available 7 days per week by prior arrangement and electric power points are also available upon request.
Considerable landscaping work has been completed with a large number of trees providing an enjoyable family picnic setting.

Spectator facilities comprise spectacular viewing from two grandstands, terraced seating, hospitality marquee sites and after- race function rooms with bar facilities. A childrens playground is also provided as part of the Clubs commitment to attracting families to events.
